Privacy Policy

Dress the Part helps you figure out what to wear to an event. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need to run the site, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account at any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you sign in. We use it to send you sign-in codes and links, and to contact you about your account if we need to.
- Fits you post: your photo, the dress code, event, height, build and any note you add. Posts are reviewed before they appear, and approved posts are visible to anyone who visits the site.
- Reports you send about a post, so we can review it.
- Feedback you give on an outfit (“Would you actually wear this?”), including any comment you add.
- Anonymous usage counts, such as whether a visit led to an outfit or a click to a store. These are tied to a random code stored on your device, not to your name, email or account.
- Preferences stored on your device, such as your chosen budget, build filter, and posts you've hidden. These stay in your browser and aren't sent to us.
Invitation text you paste into the site is read in your browser to suggest a dress code. We don't store it. If that changes, for example if we use an AI service to read invites, we'll update this policy first.
Anonymous visit counts. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages and dress codes are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't identify you, and doesn't follow you across other sites.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't sell or rent your personal information.
Services that help us run the site
These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the anonymous visit counts.
- Supabase stores accounts, posts and photos.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails.
Links to stores
“Shop similar at” buttons take you to other retailers' websites, which have their own privacy policies. Some of these may become affiliate links, which means a store can tell that you came from Dress the Part and may pay us a commission if you buy something. It doesn't change your price.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and posts until you delete them. Rejected posts stay hidden and are removed when you delete your account. Sign-in codes expire after an hour.
Your choices
- Delete your account anytime from the Account page. This permanently removes your account, your posts and your photos.
- Remove a single post or ask what we hold about you by emailing support@dressthepart.app.
Children
Dress the Part isn't meant for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let signed-in users know by email.
